The short version

  • What you log in Macro Fitness is yours. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Your data syncs to your own private iCloud account. NovaForge Studios runs no servers of its own and cannot see it.
  • If you join a squad, your display name and your stats are shared through iCloud with the friends in that squad.
  • Apple Health is only read or written with your permission, and health data is never copied to iCloud.
  • You can delete everything from inside the app, at any time.

The rest of this page is the detail behind those five points. This policy covers Macro Fitness specifically; the studio-wide policy covers this website and our other products.

What the app records

Macro Fitness stores what you put into it so it can show you your history. That is:

  • Nutrition — foods, portions, the protein, carb and fat totals that come from them, and water intake.
  • Body — weight, body measurements and progress photos.
  • Training — the workout routines you build, and the sessions, exercises, sets and reps you log against them.
  • Wellbeing — sleep and fasting periods.
  • Settings — your macro targets, profile details, units and the display name you choose.

Where your data lives

Macro Fitness syncs automatically to your own private iCloud account, so your logs reach your other devices and survive a lost phone. That storage belongs to you, not to us.

  • NovaForge Studios runs no servers. We have no database of users and no copy of your logs. We cannot read what you record, even if we wanted to.
  • Your iCloud data is governed by Apple’s terms and protected by your Apple Account.
  • Health data is excluded from iCloud sync entirely — see Apple Health below.
  • There is no sync switch inside the app. To stop syncing, turn iCloud off for Macro Fitness in iOS Settings, under your name, then iCloud.

Information you send us separately — a support email, for example — sits in our inbox and is kept only as long as it takes to resolve your request.

Squads

Squads let you train alongside friends you invite. Joining one shares some of your information with the other members:

  • What is shared: your display name and your stats.
  • Who sees it: only the people in that squad. Squads are invite-only and are not public or searchable.
  • How: through iCloud. The sharing happens between your Apple Accounts — it does not pass through us, and we cannot see it.

Squads are optional. If you do not want to share a display name or stats with anyone, do not join or create a squad. Choose a display name you are comfortable showing to the people you invite.

Apple Health

With your permission, Macro Fitness exchanges a specific set of data with Apple Health. Nothing is read or written until you grant access, and the app works without it.

  • Reads: steps, active energy, weight and heart rate.
  • Writes: workouts, active energy and weight.
  • Does not write nutrition. Your food and macro entries stay inside Macro Fitness and are not added to Apple Health.
  • Health data is never stored in iCloud by this app, and heart rate never leaves your iPhone and Apple Watch.

You can review or withdraw access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing, then Apps. In line with Apple’s rules, health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with data brokers.

Food lookups

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the search term or the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, an independent open food database, to look up its nutrition information.

What is sent is the search text or the barcode. Your logs, your identity and the rest of your data are not sent with it. Open Food Facts handles that request under its own privacy policy.

Crash reports

Macro Fitness contains no analytics tool and no crash-reporting tool. We have not built in any way of watching how you use the app.

If the app crashes, the only way we hear about it is through Apple’s own crash reports. Those are collected by Apple, not by us, and only if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers — in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements. Apple aggregates those reports and does not identify you to us. You can turn that sharing off in the same place at any time.

How it is used

  • To show you your own logs, totals and history.
  • To sync your data between your devices through iCloud.
  • To share your display name and stats with your squad, if you join one.
  • To look up nutrition information for foods you search.
  • To answer support requests you send us.

That is the whole list. We do not profile you, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

What we never collect

  • We do not sell personal information to anyone.
  • We do not use your nutrition, workout or health data for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not collect payment card numbers. Any purchase is processed entirely by Apple, and we only ever see whether a purchase is active.
  • We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
  • The app contains no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting software of any kind.

Services we rely on

Macro Fitness depends on two outside services, and no others:

  • Apple — the App Store for distribution and purchases, iCloud for syncing your data and for squads, and Apple Health where you have granted access.
  • Open Food Facts — for looking up nutrition information when you search a food or scan a barcode.

Each handles data under its own privacy policy. We do not use advertising networks or third-party trackers.

Your choices

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, most of it is already in your hands. At any time you can:

  • Delete everything from inside the app — see Deleting your data.
  • Turn iCloud off for Macro Fitness in iOS Settings, under your name, then iCloud.
  • Withdraw Apple Health permission in the Health app, under Sharing, then Apps.
  • Leave a squad, or never join one.
  • Turn off notifications in iOS Settings.
  • Ask us for a copy of anything we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Write to us and we will honour them. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Deleting your data

In the app: open Settings, then Delete Account. That removes your Macro Fitness data. It is permanent, so export anything you want to keep first.

Deleting the app removes the copy stored on that device. Data already synced to your iCloud account remains in your iCloud until you delete it in the app or remove it from iCloud yourself.

Anything we hold: because we run no servers, there is very little — essentially any support email you have sent us. To have that removed, use the Account Deletion page or email . Requests are confirmed by email and completed within 30 days. We may retain records we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records for tax purposes.

Children

Macro Fitness is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes so you are not surprised by them.
